Mike Fey leads Island as co-founder and CEO, relying on his extensive experience in cyber security, enterprise software and cloud technology.
Mike served as president and chief operating officer at Symantec and prior to joining Symantec, he served as president and chief operating officer of Blue Coat, leading all product and go-to-market functions at both organizations. While at Blue Coat, Fey led the company to aggressive growth, resulting in its acquisition by Symantec for $4.7 billion in 2016. Prior to that, Fey was executive vice president and general manager for enterprise products at McAfee and chief technology officer of Intel Security playing a pivotal role in Intel’s acquisition of McAfee for $7.7 billion in 2010. While at both Intel Security and McAfee, he drove the company's long-term strategic technology vision and innovation in the enterprise network, endpoint and analytics security segments by focusing on high-growth market opportunities and exceptional field execution.
Fey holds a degree in Engineering Physics and Mathematics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and was co-author of Security Battleground: An Executive Field Manual, providing a playbook for security obligated executives coping with the new realities of cyber security responsibilities to the board."
Dan Amiga heads up Island Technology as Co-Founder and CTO, leading an innovative team of engineers and developers. Dan is a founding investor at Axis Security, Cycode, and Build.Security (Acquired by Elastic). Dan is also the inventor of Web Isolation technology and the Founder and CTO of Fireglass (acquired in 2017 by Symantec).Â
Previously, Chief software architect of Schneider Electric, an international software & hardware energy giant. Before that, Dan was leading the software security department for the Microsoft Technology Center in Tel Aviv, helping financials, governments, and critical infrastructure companies to deliver security to their business. Early in his career, Dan has spent years in 8200 unit where he was focused on inventing and developing new security solutions that go far beyond firewalls, proxies or heuristic-based anti-malware solutions. Dan is also a frequent presenter in many software and security conferences, such as RSA & Blackhat, and an adjunct professor in the Interdisciplinary Center, Israel, teaching advanced high scale cloud computing courses.
